FAQs/Cwestiynau Cyffredin
The Housing Support Grant (HSG) is an amalgamation of three existing grants; Supporting People Programme, Homelessness Prevention Grant and Rent Smart Wales Enforcement. It came into being in April 2019 following the Welsh Government funding flexibilities pathfinder project.

Cyfuniad o dri grant cynfodol yw’r Grant Cymorth Tai (GCT); Rhaglen Cefnogi Pobl, Grant Atal Digartrefedd, a Gorfodaeth Rhentu Doeth Cymru. Dechreuodd y rhaglen ym mis Ebrill 2019 wrth i’r Llywodraeth Cymraeg ariannu prosiectau Cynllun Braenaru hyblyg.
The HSG is an early intervention grant programme to support activity, which prevents people from becoming homeless, stabilises their housing situation, or helps potentially homeless people to find and keep accommodation. It supports vulnerable people to address the, sometimes multiple, problems they face, such as debt, employment, tenancy management, substance misuse, violence against women, domestic abuse and sexual violence, and mental health issues. Support is person centred, aimed at supporting people to secure and maintain sustainable housing by addressing the mental health and substance misuse or other problems they face, helping to improve their health and well-being and/or helping them progress into, or nearer to, a job or training opportunity based on their specific circumstances.

Grant ymyrraeth gynnar i gefnogi gweithgareddau yw’r GCT. Mae’n atal pobl rhag dod yn ddigartref, sefydlogi eu sefyllfa tai, neu helpu pobl agored i ddigartrefedd ddod o hyd i, ac i gadw, eu llety. Mae’n cefnogi pobl agored i niwed i afael ar eu problemau amrywiol e.e. dyled, cyflogaeth, tenantiaeth, camddefnydd cyffuriau, trais yn erbyn menywod, camdriniaeth gartrefol, trais rhywiol, neu iechyd meddyliol. Bydd cefnogaeth yn canolbwyntio ar unigolion ac yn anelu sicrhau a chadw llety cynaliadwy gan geisio gwellhau iechyd meddyliol, camddefnydd cyffuriau, neu unrhyw broblemau eraill. Hefyd gan geisio gwellhau iechyd a lles cyffredinol a dod o hyd i swydd neu gyfle hyfforddiant yn seiliedig ar eu hamgylchiadau penodol.
Housing is a key priority area in the Welsh Government’s Prosperity for All National Strategy, which sets out the vision that “We want everyone to live in a home that meets their needs and supports a healthy, successful and prosperous life”. The HSG supports the aim of working together to prevent homelessness and where it cannot be prevented ensuring it is rare, brief and un-repeated. To do this we need to tackle the root cause of homelessness and work to enable people to stay in their own homes longer. Therefore the HSG seeks to secure “A Wales where nobody is homeless and everyone has a safe home where they can flourish and live a fulfilled, active and independent life”.

Blaenoriaeth allweddol mewn strategaeth Ffyniant i Bawb Llywodraeth Cymru yw Tai, “Rydym ni eisiau pawb i fyw mewn llety addas sy’n cefnogi bywyd iachus, llwyddiannus, a ffyniannus.” Mae’r GCT yn cefnogi’r nod o weithio gyda’n gilydd i atal digartrefedd ac, mewn sefyllfaoedd ble mae’n anocheladwy, i sicrhau mae’n brin, byr, a heb ei ailadrodd. Er mwyn cyrraedd hyn, bydd rhaid i ni ymgodymu ag achos gwreiddiol digartrefedd a gweithio i allu pobl i aros yn eu tai yn hirach. Felly, nod y GCT yw “Cymru heb ddigartrefedd, ble mae llety diogel gyda phawb i flodeuo a byw bywyd boddhaus, bywiog, ac annibynnol.”
